Outline
Reading a Gospel may be one of the most enjoyable reading experiences in the world.
It is full of stories of real people seeking spiritual food and drink through the remarkable
person known as Jesus Christ. The Gospel of John invites us to linger in unhurried conversations
with Christ through the eyes of seekers, doubters and skeptics, both religious and irreligious
people from all walks of life.
Learning goals:
1. To assist each reader in spiritual empowerment through the quiet disciplines of spiritual reading, prayer and reflection.
2. To successfully read an entire Gospel and engage in conversations with Christ.
3. To learn basic scripture memory skills to enhance your soul food experience.
4. To encourage Soul Care. Consider a 90 day experiment with God in reading all the Gospels. One chapter daily will accomplish this! (The Gospels are Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.)
5. To equip readers for Soul Share. Through this study, the reader will be equipped to guide a fellow seeker through a reading of this Gospel. (See one, do one, share one!)
"Homework"
- 1. Read a "bite of soul food daily" until the gospel has been read in its entirety.
- 2. Memorize a verse per week that blesses you with soul food.
- 3. Keep a private journal for personal insights, reflections, prayers and food for future thought
